Fly fishing - a whole new world!

I’ve spent a number of days in the past few weeks photographing fishing flies. It’s a subject I know little about but I’ve been amazed at how many different flies are available and how intricate they are! Technically it was challenging as we had to devise a system for photographing over 2000 flies as quickly as possible without compromising quality - not easy when you see how small some of the flies actually are! Here’s a couple of images from the shoot:

If you’re into fishing, then you might want to have a look at www.hartleyfly.com and browse their huge range of flies. The new images are still being uploaded but should be in place sometime in January 2012.

Interesting locations!

I’ve been shooting in some ‘interesting’ locations the past couple of weeks. Two that spring to mind are a pub toilet and a bleak mountain railway, both shoots for theatre productions. Here’s an on-set shot and a couple of images from the shoots:

Studio on location!

Well it’s been a while since my last blog entry. It’s been a busy year and the blog entries sort of fell by the wayside unfortunately. I’ve had quite a few interesting shoots recently one being a request to do a large studio shoot but...on location! The subject was airline seating but due to logistical issues, the seats were only available to be shot on 1 day and it had to be in their factory. Here’s a shot from the set:

Food, glorious food!

I’ve had the pleasure of shooting some nice food recipes this month working with the wonderful food stylist, Alison Huw and Howel Food Consultancy. Here are a couple of my favourites from the shoot:
